This sweet mama and papa had a long challenging experience in the hospital with their first. This time around they desired a peaceful, calm, supported home birth and they got it. This sweet mama birthed her baby at home next to the bed with dad and big brother present. We tried to set up the birth tub but labor happened so quickly that we didn’t have time to fill it all the way. Big brother ended up using it as a pool while mama and daddy bonded to the new baby. This sweet woman and her husband planned an unassisted birth until she was 8 months pregnant. She then decided to have a midwife just because it was her first around. She labored for less than 2 hours and then called me to say her water had broke and she felt like she had to push. Baby was born just 12 minutes labor in the shower into her daddy’s hands, while I was on my way. Baby weighed 7 lbs 14 oz. Welcome beautiful baby girl!

It was especially fun to help this repeat family welcome their second son into the world. I helped them with their first 3 years ago and this time around big brother got to be there to witness his baby brother being born. This first time mama labored so quickly, we barely had time to set up the birth space. I arrived at 1:45am and these beautiful baby girl was born at home in the birth tub at 2:41am. Such a sweet experience to help this family have a beautiful home birth.
This sweet baby boy was born to a first time mama who advanced into active labor rather quickly. We were there at her home less than 4 hours before she powered her baby out and into the hands of student midwife, Katrina Bolduc. Weighing in at 7 lbs even, we were so blessed to be there for this sweet family.
This family transferred from OB care late in pregnancy because of the hospital regulations regarding COVID and a desire for a more natural birth experience for their second child. Her first baby came 4 weeks early so it was quite a surprised when this baby went past her due date. But when labor started it came on so quickly this mama barely had time to get home from the beach and have a baby. We were able to fill up the birth tub in time and she had this 9 lb beautiful girl in the water. I think her expressions say it all.
